Hen+Hoc Butcher and Deli

Located in the heart of Old City, Chefs Jeffery and Jon Newman offer their customers skillfully and ethically produced meats. They are also equipped with charcuterie, sides, and lunch to-go. Their most renown sandwich is their delightful Hot Pastrami on house-made focaccia. Complete with hot pastrami on whole grain mustard, roasted peppers, and onion jam, this sandwich has been a hit since day one. 

Jon and Jeffrey also own Oli Bea, a breakfast shop also in Old City. Here you’ll find an exciting lineup of breakfast tacos, pancakes, and other morning eats.

Steamboat on Central

Focused on curating delicious sandwiches, Steamboat on Central has become a staple restaurant in North Knoxville, near the Happy Holler neighborhood. One of their most popular sandwiches is The Italiano. This sub consists of smoked ham, capicola, salami, pepperoni, sliced provolone cheese, lettuce, mayo, onion, and banana peppers on white or wheat bread. Sharing a patio with local coffee shop Elst Brewing Company, Steamboat is an excellent place to grab a sub and an afternoon coffee.

Tako Taco

Also located in the Old City, Tako Taco is an exciting mix of Asian and Spanish-inspired dishes. Their most popular, the Crispy Chicken Patty Sandwich, comes with roasted jalapeños, spicy ranch relish, house pickles, and a nacho cheddar cheese blend on a Paysan bun.
