Just like you may play softball or ultimate frisbee with friends from work, your pup can play in a recreational Toss/Fetch League this February. Smoky Mountain K9 Sports (SMK9Sports) hosts the Summer Down Under Toss/Fetch League in February to give dogs and owners a chance to play disc together.
Toss/Fetch League Details
Starting on Sunday, February 2 K9 sports will host a five-week league. You’ll get to play two rounds and your score will be a combination of both runs. The league will award weekly prizes and have a “Frisbee Firecracker” award at the end of the league. The cost is $15 for your first dog and $10 for each additional dog which covers the entire 5-week season.

SMK9Sports was founded in the spring of 2018 by Kim Dunn and Lisa Hudgens who wanted an athletic outlet for their own dogs, and quickly realized that many other dog owners in East Tennessee were searching for the same kind of outlet. Kim and Lisa are passionate about being active with their pups and are thrilled to be able to share that passion with the SMK9Sports community.
Smokey Mountain K9 Sports started with dock diving, where dogs leap into a pool after a toy that their owner has thrown. SMK9Sports has the only full regulation size dock diving pool in East Tennessee. Next, the organization added disc, which created the UpDog Challenge games and the Toss/Fetch League. SMK9Sports says they, “love how disc is a sport which can channel the dogs’ love of running into something with a purpose.”
The group is now proud to offer puppy training classes with Dan Cliff, who has worked with the founders’ personal pups for years and helped them make great strides!
