History of National Peach Cobbler Day
Peach Cobbler Day was established in the 1950s by the Georgia Peach Festival to promote canned peaches. Though National Peach Cobbler Day falls on April 13, the peach season does not take place until mid-to-late summer. National Peach Cobbler Day has a sister holiday, National Cherry Cobbler Day, which takes place on May 17. Peach cobbler was invented by American settlers who utilized what they had when they couldn’t make peach pie.
