There is something about a brownie with its warm gooey and fudgy center. It’s a treat that just cannot be beat. Whether you are looking for a dessert recipe to make for Thanksgiving or you simply need to satisfy your sweet tooth, here is a recipe for Pecan Pie Brownies. It is two yummy treats wrapped into one delicious and decadent dessert.
Ingredients
Hearing that it is two desserts in one might be intimidating for the amateur baker. The Pecan Pie Brownies, however, are both easy on your budget and easy to make. This particular recipe does not ask that you make brownies completely from scratch. The ingredients for this recipe are:
- Your choice of a box of brownie mix. Get a family-sized box.
- The necessary ingredients to make the brownie mix. At the most, this will be a few eggs, water, and vegetable oil.
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 ½ cups of corn syrup
- 4 eggs (These eggs are separate from the eggs used in the brownie mix.)
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups of chopped pecans
Directions
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. You will then prepare the brownie mix as the package instructs. Pour the batter into the greased baking pan. Bake the brownies for 20 minutes. This will most likely be 10 minutes less than the box of brownie mix instructed, but this is okay. You are not completely done baking the brownies, but at this point they only need to bake for 20 minutes.
As the brownies are baking, use this time to mix the corn syrup, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract together in a medium mixing bowl. Once this is thoroughly combined, you will fold in the chopped pecans. At this point, the 20 minutes on the brownies should be done. You will remove the pan from the oven, pour the pecan mixture on top of the brownies, and then you will place the pan back in the oven to bake for 25 to 35 more minutes. All ovens are different, so you will want to keep an eye on the dessert. Once the pecan pie filling jiggles only a tad, your brownies should be ready to remove from the oven. Allow them to cool, and these brownies are ready to serve.
